Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals

Welcome to the Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals website, your resource for information regarding one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical entities in the United States.

Our goal is to utilize Mallinckrodt's substantial knowledge of the production of pharmaceutical ingredients and products while continuing our heritage of manufacturing and marketing the most consistent quality pharmaceuticals in the world.

Our Division currently has four business units:

Our Generic Pharmaceuticals business possesses the unique capability to manufacture many of our prescription pharmaceuticals from active ingredient to finished product. Controlling all facets of pharmaceutical production means unmatched quality, secure supply, and competitive pricing for our customers and, ultimately, for the patient.

We are one of a select few companies that are able to produce Schedule II through IV controlled substances. Our commitment to pain management products is reflected in our vast line of generic analgesics that includes medications for mild to severe pain.

In addition to pain management products, we have expanded our line of products to focus on the therapeutic areas of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Central Nervous System (CNS) treatment.

Look for us now and in the future to grow by leveraging our ability to produce quality generics from start to finish.

Mallinckrodt formed the Brand Pharmaceuticals business in 2001. By strategically acquiring under-promoted products in select therapeutic areas, Mallinckrodt is capitalizing on branded pharmaceutical growth opportunities in the market place. For example, two central nervous system medications, Restoril®7.5mg (temazepam capsules, USP) and Tofranil®-PM (imipramine pamoate capsules), were recently purchased from a major pharmaceutical company. With revised positioning in the market and enhanced promotional strategies, Mallinckrodt has been able to capitalize upon these neglected products that remain valuable to healthcare professionals and their patients.

Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals' Outsourcing business provides contract manufacturing as well as a range of strategic services to a diverse clientele. From leading, established pharmaceutical companies to virtual and emerging entities, all Mallinckrodt clients share a common need: responsive, flexible outsourcing solutions they can trust.

Our Hobart, New York facility manufactures and packages solid-dose and oral liquid products and is continually expanding to meet client needs. Our high level of expertise and extensive system of checks and balances ensures quality drug material throughout the entire manufacturing and packaging process.

The Outsourcing group is carving out quite a niche by providing years of reliable solutions to long-term partners. Clients we had 20 years ago are still clients today.

Drug addiction (including alcohol) is the single largest public health problem in the U.S. The combined economic impact is estimated in the billions. Over the years, a system of regulatory agencies, medical organizations, treatment clinics, and patient advocacy groups has evolved to successfully return millions of opioid-addicted persons to productive lives through the application of methadone therapy.

Mallinckrodt is a leading supplier of therapeutic products for treating opioid addiction. From the manufacture of raw material to production of the final dosage form, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals' Addiction Treatment business serves the need for this important therapeutic modality. Our Methadose® brand of methadone hydrochloride is available in liquid, tablet and powder forms to meet all prescribing needs. Our Depade® brand of naltrexone hydrochloride tablets, USP is available in a 50mg strength as well as a new 25mg and 100mg strength.

Mallinckrodt's commitment to the field of addiction medicine and therapy is evidenced by our sponsorship and support of leading scientific, medical, and social service organizations and publications.
